James W. Weiss established Benefits Plus in 1985, with the purpose of creating an employee benefits firm whose top priority is the client. Since then, the agency has grown steadily every year, establishing relationships with clients throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, with the view that it is important to take an active role in the industry and community, James Weiss has served on two agent advisory councils for insurance carriers.
Benefits Plus works with your company to develop a benefit plan that conforms to your corporate philosophy and is within your budgetary guidelines. As indicated by our name, the approach of the agency is to offer full employee benefit services to our clients, and to ensure that we are abreast of the most current information, services and technology in the employee benefits area. In recent years, Benefits Plus has been working to provide administrative services and solutions for human resource departments. Our agency provides clients with services that will help them perform their tasks more efficiently, making the human resource functions less burdensome.
Benefits Plus currently handles benefits for approximately 200 companies with employees throughout the country, ranging from self-employed individuals to international firms with hundreds of employees. All agents with Benefits Plus hold a Life and Health license. James Weiss is a Certified Insurance Consultant, a Registered Investment Advisor and holds a Life and Health License as well as a Property/Casualty License. Benefits Plus employees participate in Continuing Education courses and seminars to stay informed on the current issues in employee benefits.
